Phenyl Modified Silicone Fluids has higher coefficient of viscosity-temperature, lower freezing point and higher flash point. The most commonly used high temperature silicone fluids are phenyl silicone fluids. When the phenyl group in the polysiloxane replaces the methyl group, oxidation resistance, thermal stability, and shear resistance are all improved. The phenyl group is usually introduced by a phenylmethylsiloxane or a diphenylsiloxane.
Octyl funcational Silicone Fluids are recommended for organic systems that require the benefits of silicone but are too incompatible with standard dimethyl silicones.
Film formers are widely used in hair and skin-care products like moisturizers. When applied on the hair or skin, they form a supple, cohesive, and continuous layer. This layer/film has water-binding properties that leave a silky and smooth effect on the skin. Various acrylates, acrylamides, and copolymers come under the category of film forming agents.
