nPhytosphingosine

nPhytosphingosine contains phytosphingosine encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles with an average size of 200 nm. This nanometric size enhances the penetration of the active ingredient into the animal’s skin and fur, while also allowing for gradual release. Upon application, the lipid nanoparticles form an occlusive layer on the skin that helps prevent water loss and supports skin hydration. Phytosphingosine is a naturally occurring sphingoid base found in the stratum corneum, playing a key role in maintaining healthy skin. Its topical application increases ceramide levels and strengthens the skin’s barrier function, which is especially important for managing conditions like dry skin and atopic dermatitis in animals. Due to these properties, phytosphingosine is commonly used in veterinary dermatological products for sensitive or atopic skin, including shampoos, conditioners, lotions, and sprays.

Usage Recommendations: For external veterinary use. Shampoos, conditioners, lotions, and sprays (1 – 5%).
