Sodium Hyaluronate

Hyaluronic acid, also known as hyaluronate or HA in skincare, is a water-attracting polysaccharide naturally found in the skin. As we age, the amount of hyaluronic acid in our skin decreases, leading to loss of hydration, volume, and plumpness. This can result in the appearance of lines and wrinkles, as well as dull and lackluster skin. When added to skincare products, hyaluronic acid’s humectant properties draw moisture into the skin, helping to address dryness and dullness. Many people may not be aware that hyaluronic acid comes in different molecular sizes. Larger molecules remain on the skin’s surface, giving it a ‘dewy’ appearance, while smaller molecules penetrate deeper into the skin to provide hydration benefits.
