In general, the AEO series nonionic surfactants have outstanding wetting, dispersing, emulsifying, penetrating, and cleaning properties.
Fatty Alcohol Polyoxyethylene Ether is free of APEO and NP, easy to degrade, and complies with most environmental requirements. Among all the variants, AEO-7 and AEO-9 are the most used in the home care cleaning industry. They are low-foaming with excellent detergency, increasingly used to formulate High-efficiency(HE) detergents.

While a formal safety assessment hasn’t been published, a draft report exists which does not indicate that polyquaternium-51 poses a risk to the skin in the amounts currently used.
