Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is a colorless sugar and the main active in self-tanning products. It reacts with amino acids in the stratum corneum to create a temporary brown pigment. This pigment mimics the look of a natural tan. The tanning effect develops within 2 to 4 hours and lasts for 3 to 7 days. As the skin exfoliates, the color gradually fades. Experts consider DHA non-toxic and safe for topical use at standard concentrations. Brands use it in self-tanning lotions, sprays, and mousses as a UV-free bronzing solution.
nCamomile delivers chamomile oil encapsulated in nanocapsules, with nanometric size enabling deeper penetration into the animal’s skin and fur to enhance effectiveness. The nanocapsules also form an occlusive layer that prevents water loss and helps maintain hydration. Extracted from the flowers of Matricaria chamomilla L., chamomile oil contains a wide range of bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, coumarins, alpha-bisabolol, and chamazulene. Rich in linoleic, oleic, and palmitic acids, nCamomile combines these nutrients with the well-established dermatological benefits of chamomile, which include anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antioxidant, antimicrobial, brightening, anti-allergic, refreshing, and wound-healing actions, as well as improving skin capillarity and resilience.
